GitLab Inc. is seeking a Professional Services Engineer to partner with public sector customers, delivering installations, migrations, and advisory engagements across diverse environments.

You will balance hands-on delivery with clear communication, and work in a remote, largely asynchronous setting. You’ll lead deployments using Terraform, Ansible, and other IaC tools, plan migrations to GitLab SaaS or self‑managed setups, and collaborate with project managers to ensure successful, timely

Qualifications

• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet or Chef.
• Active TS/SCI clearance or equivalent is required.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to SCIF sites as needed.
• United States citizenship required to be eligible for this position.
• Ability to lead technical delivery end-to-end and coordinate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Professional Services engagements including installation, migration, and advisory work.
• Plan and execute GitLab deployments across architectures using IaC and configuration as code.
• Oversee migrations to GitLab SaaS or self‑managed GitLab with minimal disruption.
• Provide technical guidance to customers and adopt best practices.
• Coordinate with project managers and engagement managers to improve delivery quality.
• Manage multiple customer projects while balancing outcomes and billable time.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to repeatable delivery patterns.
• Collaborate with product/engineering to remove blockers and drive improvements.
