Job summary

GitLab is seeking a Senior Professional Services Engineer for the PubSec team. Remote in the United States, you will lead installations, migrations, trainings, and advisory services for public sector customers, balancing hands-on delivery with clear communication and project ownership.

You will guide deployments from single-node Omnibus to large reference architectures using IaC/CaC, while collaborating with project managers to ensure on-time, on-scope outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience with infrastructure as code and configuration as code tools.
• Ability to lead technical delivery end-to-end and communicate effectively.
• Familiarity with security/compliance in government or public sector environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Professional Services engagements such as installation, migration, training, and advisory services to help customers achieve successful outcomes with GitLab.
• Plan and execute GitLab deployments across architectures using infrastructure as code and configuration as code.
• Oversee migrations to GitLab SaaS or self-managed GitLab, minimizing disruption.
• Provide technical guidance across the GitLab feature stack to fit goals and operating environment.
• Partner with project managers by providing feedback to improve delivery.
• Manage and deliver multiple customer projects simultaneously while balancing billable time.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to repeatable delivery patterns.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to remove blockers and improve delivery processes.
