Job summary

Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking a Dispatcher II for the Wyoming Highway Patrol Dispatch Program in Cheyenne. The position requires dispatching law enforcement and emergency services, monitoring unit status, and coordinating resources with multi-agency involvement.

Qualified candidates have an Associate's Degree or equivalent experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

• High memory retention and attention to detail are essential.
• Strong typing ability and familiarity with computers are required.

Responsibilities

• Dispatches law enforcement and other emergency services personnel via telephone and two-way radio.
• Monitors status of field units and assigns resources as needed.
• Responds to incidents involving multiple agencies and jurisdictions.
• Relays information accurately and follows policy and procedures.
• Maintains POST training and certification requirements as specified.
