Job summary

Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects in California seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead municipal public works projects onsite with client teams. You will own project performance across scope, schedule, budget, quality and safety, directing CM teams and coordinating with city staff and agencies.

The role requires a California PE license or CCM and a minimum of 15 years in construction management on municipal/public infrastructure projects, with travel to local sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of construction management experience on municipal/public infrastructure projects.
• Experience supervising and directing project teams including inspection staff and junior construction managers.
• Experience managing municipal roadway/street projects and public facilities from construction through closeout.
• Ability to manage construction in active public environments and coordinate with public agencies.
• Onsite at client site with option for flexible work/life needs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as responsible-in-charge for assigned municipal public works and community infrastructure projects, owning performance across scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety.
• Manage and lead project teams; provide direction, oversight, and quality review of all deliverables.
• Own the agency client relationship and be primary contact for city staff and directors; lead coordination meetings and resolve disputes with contractors.
• Oversee all construction administration activities: RFIs, submittals, pay apps, change orders, schedule reviews; review project team deliverables.
• Monitor contractor performance, schedule progress, staffing, equipment utilization, quality, and responsiveness; implement corrective actions and manage payments.
• Oversee preparation and delivery of daily inspection reports and project docs; review plans and changes for constructability, identify risk and solutions.
• Enforce contractor compliance with contracts, safety, environmental standards and agency requirements; communicate issues to leadership and clients.
• Coordinate construction phasing, traffic control, and utility coordination in active environments; allocate team resources across portfolio.
• Ensure field changes and modifications are captured on record drawings.
• Support business development: proposals, client presentations, maintaining agency relationships in Orange County; perform other duties.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field, plus either a valid California PE license and/or CCM.
