Premier Property Management is seeking an experienced Community Manager to lead operations at a multi-phase, high-demand affordable housing community in the Detroit area. This hands-on role requires strong regulatory knowledge, team leadership, and a focus on resident satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will supervise leasing, maintenance, and administrative staff, ensure HUD/Section 8/LIHTC/PHA compliance, manage budgets and reporting, and actively engage with residents, ownership, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable Community Manager experience in affordable housing.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with HUD, Section 8, LIHTC, and Public Housing (PHA) programs.
• Supervisory and team leadership experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of affordable housing regulations, compliance requirements, and property operations.
• Experience using Yardi property management software is required.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Strong financial management, budgeting, rent collection, and reporting experience.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while actively managing the property.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all day-to-day operations of a large affordable housing community.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop leasing, maintenance, and administrative staff.
• Ensure compliance with HUD, Section 8, LIHTC, Public Housing (PHA), and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Oversee leasing activities, occupancy goals, and resident retention initiatives.
• Manage rent collections, delinquency reporting, and resident accounts.
• Review certifications, recertifications, and compliance documentation for accuracy.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reports.
• Monitor property budgets, expenses, and financial performance.Coordinate contractors, capital improvement projects, and maintenance activities.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure the property maintains exceptional curb appeal and physical condition.
• Resolve resident concerns promptly and professionally.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with ownership, regulatory agencies, vendors, and community partners.
• Utilize Yardi property management software for leasing, reporting, accounting, and compliance functions.
