Job summary

Natel Energy, an Alameda, California-based provider of high-performance hydraulic turbines, is seeking a Senior Manager (or Associate Director) of Public Affairs to drive growth across North America and Europe. You will bridge policy research, regulatory engagements, and commercial content to unlock market opportunities while leading in-country consultants and ABM campaigns.

Qualifications

7-10+ years of experience in public affairs, government relations, B2B marketing, or strategic communications.
Demonstrated ability to research, interpret, and compare regulatory frameworks.
Experience engaging regulators, agency staff, ministries, or elected officials on behalf of an organization—not only analyzing policy but influencing it.
Experience directing external consultants, lobbyists, or retained advisors: setting scope, deliveringables, and synthesizing their work into one strategy.
Understanding of how to create and implement change within complex public and private organizations, including mapping stakeholder motivations and leading strategic planning initiatives.
Demonstrated experience designing and leading Account-Based Marketing strategies or supporting complex sales cycles.
Exceptional writing skills. Ability to adopt different voices for different audiences and translate dense policy into value propositions.
Working proficiency in content design; able to build one-pagers, slide decks, or ROI visualizations without a designer.
A “doer” mentality; comfortable in a lean environment.
Ability to work independently and communicate clearly across a distributed team.

Responsibilities

Lead global policy analysis and strategy for Europe and Canada, researching regulatory frameworks and environmental standards.
Direct political and legislative engagement with regulators, ministries, agencies, and elected officials in Europe and Canada.
Manage in-country policy consultants and lobbyists across France, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, and Canada; coordinate into a single regulatory strategy.
Advise on strategic direction for market expansion using regulatory and legislative insights.
Translate policy incentives into high-impact content (ROI visuals, one-pagers, digital ads, slide decks) to accelerate sales.
Set ABM strategy for Europe and Canada; design targeting and content with marketing execution.
Lead conference strategy and manage presence at key industry events in Europe and Canada.
