Aflac, a Fortune 500 company, is seeking a Senior Public Affairs professional to lead communications initiatives from Washington, DC with a hybrid schedule. You will coordinate with headquarters and field offices, develop materials for external audiences, and support executive leadership in public affairs efforts.

This role emphasizes strategic communication, policy explainers, and collaboration with external consultants while maintaining Aflac's brand and message across channels.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• 8 years of professional job-related work experience
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Responsabilidades

• Leads public affairs communications initiatives with headquarters and field force including monthly newsletter and geopolitical update, policy explainers, presentations
• Develops communications materials in partnership with internal teams that tell the Aflac story and resonate with Washington, DC audiences; includes fact sheets, one pagers, Q&As, website content, social media materials
• Supports the Vice President, Public Affairs in identifying and executing opportunities for public affairs engagement, message sentiment and metrics tracking
• Works closely with external public affairs consultants to design and implement public affairs communications and campaign plans
• Assists in managing brand and visual identity for team in partnership with internal teams
• Supports Senior Vice President and team leadership with talking points, presentations, social media materials for public speaking engagements
• Fosters relationships with public affairs and communications professionals in trade associations, think tanks, non-profits to leverage resources
• Becomes SME on industry best practices, technologies, and methods for public affairs and communications strategies
• Works independently to analyze issues, set priorities, and meet deadlines; maintains communication for escalation
• Leads and coordinates projects of moderate complexity; participates in division projects for the department
• Be fully committed to the Aflac Way and the federal relations team norms
• Performs other related duties as required
