Job summary

Burrow Global is seeking a PSV/Pressure Safety Engineer to lead PSV calculations, overpressure analyses, and flare system reviews for EPC projects in the Deer Park area. The role ensures PRDs and piping configurations meet API, ASME, and OSHA PSM standards. Field verifications will be conducted onsite in Deer Park, TX.

Required are a B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years EPC experience, and proficiency with API 520/521/2000, ASME I & VIII, and IPRSM/Aspen tools. TX P.E. is a plus.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• 10+ years of process safety or mechanical engineering experience in an EPC setting for oil & gas/oil refining.
• Strong knowledge of API 520, API 521, API 2000, ASME I & VIII, and TEMA.
• Hands-on with IPRSM; familiarity with Aspen HYSYS/Plus and FlareNet.

Responsibilities

• Overpressure scenario analysis and sizing for process equipment and vessels.
• PSV/PRD sizing, selection, and specification using industry software.
• Flare and vent header evaluation including backpressure and line sizing.
• Field verification and walkdowns at refinery and petrochemical sites.
• Support FEED through detailed EPC execution for safety packages.
• Prepare PSV design packages, MOC docs, and pressure drop calculations.
• Collaborate with Piping, Process, Instrumentation, and Client teams on PHAs/HAZOPs.
