Job summary

L.A. Care Health Plan, based in Los Angeles, seeks a Provider Contract Specialist III to lead negotiation, evaluation, and execution of complex contracts across professional, facility, vendor, and ancillary providers.

The role bridges legal, finance, and operational teams to ensure terms align with strategy, optimize provider networks, and drive performance improvements while maintaining strong provider relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; in lieu of degree, equivalent education/experience may be considered.
• At least 4 years of contract management experience in negotiating, executing, and ensuring regulatory compliance for complex agreements.
• Professional experience as a strategic partner, capable of advancing organizational goals through effective contract management and stakeholder collaboration.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration, representing the contracting function in broader organizational initiatives and provider meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiation, evaluation, and execution of contracts across professional, facility, vendor, and ancillary providers.
• Manage high-value and complex agreements, requiring nuanced understanding of organizational strategy and industry dynamics.
• Bridge legal, finance, and operational stakeholders to ensure contract terms align with strategic objectives and drive quality improvement.
• Manage amendments, templates, and regulatory compliance; track performance metrics and drive improvements.
• Represent the department in cross-functional initiatives and provider meetings to ensure contracting is integrated with organizational needs.
• Handle a broad, complex caseload across multiple provider types/regions with autonomy and accountability.
• Provide mentorship, training, and process improvements to the contracting team.
