Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, CA seeks a Prototyping Technologist (Mechanical Technologist) to join a dedicated manufacturing team. You will develop, modify, and program tools, parts, and fixtures, working closely with engineers, CNC programmers, and designers in a low-volume production environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma with 8+ years of related experience and the ability to obtain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

Competenze

• High school diploma plus 8 or more years of directly related experience.
• Ability to acquire and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Experience with CREO NC and CNC machining is preferred.

• Develop, modify, repair, maintain, align, evaluate, operate, and experiment with mechanical apparatus and equipment.
• Machining tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, prototypes, and production part assemblies.
• Analyze data and recommend modifications to meet design for manufacturability.
• Create CNC and CAM programs for production runs.
• Compute dimensions and determine tooling requirements.
• Design and build machine fixtures from drawings and specifications.
• Perform skilled machining and fabrication on one-off prototypes and production parts.
