Job summary
Vylor is seeking a Senior Research Associate- Protein Biochemistry to join the Protein Engineering Group. You will design, express, purify, and functionally screen engineered proteins for biotech and seed product development.
The role blends hands-on lab work with computational planning and data stewardship in high-throughput, AI-assisted workflows. The successful candidate will use Benchling to manage sequences, analyze data, and maintain rigorous documentation while collaborating with
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in biochemistry, protein engineering, or related field and hands-on lab experience.
- Experience with cloning, mutagenesis, expression, purification, and protein analysis.
- Experience using Benchling for ELN, sequence/construct registration, and data tracking.
- Ability to apply AI-enabled tools to design workflows and analyze results.
Responsibilities
- Execute protein engineering experiments: cloning, mutagenesis, expression, purification, screening.
- Generate engineered protein variants to improve activity, stability, or specificity.
- Operate in high-throughput workflows and help optimize screening and data tracking.
- Use computational tools for sequence analysis, structure prediction, and experiment planning.
- Collaborate across protein engineering, molecular biology, analytics, automation, and data science.
