Job summary

Edison Scientific, Inc. is seeking a Protein Engineer to join our Forward Deployed team onsite with pharma and biotech partners. You will ensure AI-generated biologics designs are rigorous, developable, and grounded in protein engineering principles.

You’ll benchmark outputs, stress test AI agents, and collaborate with partner teams to accelerate engineering workflows. You’ll work with Protein Scientists, Engineers, and Leadership to translate insights into smarter AI recommendations and robust

Qualifications

• Ph.D. and 5+ years of industry experience in biologics discovery or protein engineering, ideally within pharma/biotech.
• Track record in protein optimization campaigns spanning antibody or therapeutic protein modalities.
• Proficiency with protein design/analysis tools (Rosetta, AlphaFold, FoldX) and MD platforms.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and improve AI-assisted protein engineering tasks including sequence optimization and developability prediction.
• Build benchmarks and success criteria for biologics-focused agent workflows.
• Work with partner protein engineers to deploy AI agents into engineering pipelines.
• Act as large molecule authority on AI outputs, assessing plausibility and manufacturability.
• Collaborate daily with Forward Deployed Engineers and Computational Biologists.
• Support engagement scoping, success metrics, and technical evaluation with GTM teams.
