Job summary

Vylor, Inc. seeks a Senior Research Associate- Protein Biochemistry to advance protein engineering within our Protein Engineering Group. You’ll design, express, purify, and evaluate engineered proteins using high-throughput workflows and AI-driven analyses.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelors or Masters in biochemistry or related field with hands-on recombinant protein experience and Benchling expertise; collaboration across cross-functional teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with molecular biology and recombinant protein workflows (cloning, mutagenesis, expression, purification, analysis).
• Experience using Benchling for electronic lab notebooks, sequence/construct registration, and data tracking.

Responsibilities

• Execute protein engineering experiments, including cloning, mutagenesis, library construction, expression, purification, and screening.
• Generate and evaluate engineered protein variants to improve activity, stability, expression, or specificity.
• Work within high-throughput design-build-test-learn workflows; contribute to automation and sample-tracking improvements.
• Use computational/AI tools for sequence analysis, structure prediction, variant assessment, data visualization, and planning.
• Prepare technical summaries, protocols, and data packages for project reviews and decisions.
• Maintain safety, rigor, reproducibility, data quality, and well-organized lab operations.
• Troubleshoot workflows and implement practical solutions; stay current with AI and protein engineering advances.
