Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Protection & Power Systems for our Cortez operation. Lead protection and relay coordination for distribution, transmission, and generation up to 120 kV, ensuring safe, reliable, and maintainable system performance.

You will own relay settings, studies, and SCADA interfaces, and support commissioning, capital projects, and external contractor oversight while upholding safety and regulatory standards across mine power systems.

Qualifications

• BS in electrical engineering is required.
• PE license preferred or FE exam completed.
• Minimum five years in electrical power systems, mining/industrial utility preferred.
• Protective relaying, device coordination, and commissioning experience required.
• Proficiency with ETAP and related protection platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead protection studies, relay settings, and coordination analyses.
• Own protection platform documentation and study models.
• Review fault records, events, and oscillography for root causes.
• Support commissioning and energization of protection equipment.
• Coordinate with utilities and contractors on protection requirements.
