Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Open Pit Electrician at Cortez operations to perform equipment repairs and electrical installations with minimal supervision. The role requires hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems, reading schematics, and working safely at height in a mining environment.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, wiring projects, and providing reliable electrical support to keep operations productive.

Qualifications

• 5+ years related work experience as an Industrial or Commercial Electrician (required).
• Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meter, and testing equipment (required).
• Efficient in sizing conductors, conduits and using NEC Code Book (required).
• Experienced in handling low to high voltage up to 480 VAC (required).
• Strong knowledge in troubleshooting of motor controls, drives, and electronic components (required).
• Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics (preferred).
• Ability to install electrical equipment and circuit modification (preferred).
• Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft. high (required).
• Ability to lift and carry at least 90 pounds (required).
• Perform job responsibilities with integrity under minimal to no supervision (required).
• Proven attention to detail with a high level of accuracy (required).
• Excellent organizational, time management skills (required).
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently (required).
• Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills, with a courteous and pleasant customer service focus (required).
• Excellent verbal, written, and radio communication skills (required).
• Capability to multi-task, self-manage and self-motivate (required).

Responsibilities

• Maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, and installs electrical equipment and systems. Utilizing technical, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
• Performs general maintenance duties
• Work on projects throughout the entire facility running conduit, pulling wire, and connecting devices, using lifts and ladders.
• Perform equipment repairs and similar duties that require no oversight or direction.
• Uses complex electrical schematics and blueprints to troubleshoot and correct problems.
• Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflect the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company.
• Provides excellent customer service.
• Complete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedback.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
