Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking a Protection & Control Designer with 8+ years of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will prepare and review P&C design packages for substations ranging from 12kV to 500kV, using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, and will ensure adherence to client standards.

Ideal candidates will lead design activities, collaborate with multi-discipline teams, and maintain strong client communications while delivering accurate drawings and BOMs.

Qualifications

• Must have 8+ years of design experience in protection & control systems.
• Experience designing protection & control relays, metering, CTs/PTs, transformers, AC/DC power, and battery controls.
• Proficient with creating One Lines, AC/DC Schematics, Panel Layouts, Wiring/Connections, and BOMs.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design team members to complete assignments.
• Develop and check AC/DC schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Lead and guide design team members on projects.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline departments and manage multiple projects.
• Perform P&C design for substations from 12kV to 500kV.
• Apply client substation design standards to work.
• Maintain client communications and relationships.
