Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Substation P&C Designer to lead a design team on projects ranging from 12kV to 500kV. The Lead Designer will prepare, modify, and review design drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation, while ensuring adherence to client standards and project budgets.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, assigning work, and coordinating with engineers across departments to deliver high-quality substations on schedule.

Qualifications

• 12 years of experience in electrical design or substations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Ability to lead a multi-discipline design team.
• Knowledge of substation design standards and project budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead, instruct, and supervise multi-discipline design staff on projects.
• Develop/check AC and DC schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials.
• Create work assignments and ensure tasks meet budget and schedule constraints.
• Collaborate across departments on projects and incorporate vendor information.
