Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Protection & Control Engineer to lead substation design projects in Boston, MA, or other US offices. You will develop one- and three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring interconnections, relay settings, and SCADA design, while mentoring junior engineers.

The role involves coordinating multi-discipline teams, supporting construction, and ensuring design compliance with NEC/IEEE standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration is preferred or eligible.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in Protection & Control electrical design.
• Prior utility or utility consulting experience preferred.
• Experience with IEC61850/Goose Messaging is a plus.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC and IEEE standards; independent and team capable.

Responsibilities

• Develop efficient electrical design packages for medium and high voltage substations.
• Coordinate design activities to meet schedules, budgets and quality requirements.
• Assist in site visits, estimating, and project meetings.
• Provide designs compliant with codes and AtkinsRéalis procedures.
• Prepare material specifications and construction documents.
