Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Lead Protection & Control Engineer for our Rochester, NY area team. You will lead multi-discipline efforts to deliver electrical design packages for medium and high voltage substations, ensuring compliance with NEC, NESC, IEEE, and internal AtkinsRéalis standards.

The role includes design, reviews, site support, and mentoring of engineers. The successful candidate will have a BC/BE in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years P&C design experience, PE eligibility or PE, and

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in P&C electrical design.
Professional Engineer (PE) registration or eligible for registration.
Experience with IEC61850/Goose Messaging.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and knowledge of NEC/NESC/IEEE standards.
Ability to work independently and in a team to own projects.

Responsibilities

Develop efficient and reliable electrical design packages for substations (one-line, three-line, schematics).
Coordinate design activities to meet schedules, budget, quality requirements.
Assist in site visits, estimates, and project meetings.
Provide designs in line with codes and AtkinsRéalis policies.
Prepare material, equipment, and construction specifications.
Review designs for code compliance and constructability.
