Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Engineer – Propulsion in the Energetics and Propulsion Department, onsite in Tewksbury, MA. The role requires a STEM degree with relevant propulsion experience and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

The candidate will lead propulsion system development, manage subcontracts, and collaborate with suppliers and program teams to advance technology for missile and space systems. US citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and 5 years of relevant experience OR advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Three years of experience in propulsion technology and its application to solid propulsion systems.
• Experience in developing solid propulsion systems from conceptual design through final test/assembly.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to start date.
• US citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate or develop advanced technologies for propulsion integration into missile systems and space vehicles.
• Collaborate across program management and subcontractors on design and manufacturing of propulsion systems.
• Lead program planning and communicate technical capabilities and future directions to management and government agencies.
• Manage propulsion system development projects and propulsion subcontracts; review subcontract data and change requests; oversee supplier operations.
• Develop and deliver technical presentations to management and government agencies.
• Contribute to winning new business and resolve issues in missile program development and implementation.
