Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Principal Engineer - Solid Propulsion for onsite work. You will apply advanced propulsion engineering to missile and space systems, coordinate development and production, and collaborate with customers to define needs.

You’ll manage subcontractors and steer technical direction across programs. The role requires a STEM bachelor’s and 8+ years of related experience, with citizenship for DoD clearance and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in STEM with 8+ years experience; advanced degree may substitute years of experience.
• Experience developing solid propulsion systems.
• Ability to obtain an active DoD security clearance; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Apply or develop advanced propulsion technologies for missile and space systems.
• Coordinate development and production programs across Raytheon product lines.
• Review manufacturing processes and work with subcontractors on propulsion systems.
• Lead technical presentations to management and government agencies.
• Interface with customers to identify needs and shape program directions.
• Manage propulsion development projects and subcontracts; oversee supplier operations.
