Job summary

Venus Aerospace is seeking a Senior Propulsion Engineer to lead design, analysis, procurement, and testing of propulsion hardware for PPMS systems at our Houston headquarters. The role requires hands-on testing, CAD modeling, and cross-team collaboration to advance engine-maturity hardware.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in aerospace design/testing, strong CAD skills (NX/SolidWorks), and a systems engineering mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
• 5+ years of aerospace vehicle and component design/testing experience.
• 3+ years of CAD experience.
• Experience with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials for propulsion systems.
• Experience with NX/ SolidWorks, ANSYS Mechanical, CFX/StarCCM+, MATLAB/Python, GFSSP, Visio.

Responsibilities

• Support design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of propulsion components and assemblies.
• Generate CAD models of components and test systems.
• Hands-on testing of propulsion hardware and related systems.
• Develop and execute test plans; analyze results.
• Model fluid networks; select COTS components; coordinate with suppliers.
• Apply systems engineering to generate, validate, and verify component requirements.
• Use agile methods to break down projects into actionable tasks.
• Collaborate with engine, PPMS, and vehicle teams to meet design requirements.
• Create P&ID diagrams for test stands.
• Coordinate with external vendors and internal procurement.
