Job summary

Venus Aerospace is seeking a Sr. Propulsion Engineer to join the PPMS team in Houston. You will design, analyze, and develop Propellant & Pressure Management systems, taking concepts to flight-ready hardware while thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in aerospace propulsion, strong CAD/analysis skills, and experience with propulsion testing and system trades. Onsite work at Ellington Field is required with strong cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in aerospace or mechanical engineering required.
• 5+ years of aerospace vehicle and engine systems engineering/design experience.
• 3+ years of CAD experience, especially with large assemblies.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with NX/SolidWorks, ANSYS, CFX/StarCCM+, MATLAB/Python, GFSSP, Visio.

Responsibilities

• Support design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of propulsion sub-systems and assemblies.
• Generate CAD models of components and engine systems.
• Fluid network modeling, analysis & design to optimize engine fluid systems.
• Generate P&ID’s of engine systems.
• Develop and execute test plans, analyze test results.
• Systems engineering focusing on engine balances and requirements.
• Use engine P&IDs to create detailed CAD models of propellant feed systems.
• Use agile methodology to break down projects into tasks.
• Design and analyze tanks and PPMS.
• Collaborate with vehicle, structures, and avionics teams to satisfy requirements.
• Communicate engine test requirements.
