Job summary

Venus Aerospace is seeking a Senior/Principal Propulsion Engineer to design, analyze, and develop propulsion hardware from components to full engine assemblies. You will manage PPMS systems and participate in fast-paced, collaborative projects.

Responsibilities include CAD modeling, fluid network design, P&ID generation, test planning, and systems engineering across engine cycles. Strong cross-functional communication is required in a hybrid Oceanside setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in aerospace or mechanical engineering
• 10+ years aerospace vehicle/engine systems experience
• Experience with multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of aerospace materials for propulsion
• Experience with engine testing and hot-fire data analysis
• Proficiency in CAD modeling of large assemblies
• Familiarity with engine cycles and PPMS systems
• Strong communication for hybrid work environments

Responsibilities

• Support design, analysis, manufacturing, and testing of propulsion parts and assemblies
• Generate CAD models of components and engine systems
• Model fluid networks, select COTS components, source with vendors
• Create P&ID s for engine systems
• Develop and execute test plans; analyze results
• Perform systems engineering for engine balances, sizing, requirements
• Generate detailed CAD models from P&IDs for engine assemblies
• Work in Agile to break down projects into tasks
• Design tanks and supporting PPMS structures
• Coordinate with vehicle engineering and test teams for requirements
• Collaborate with external vendors and internal procurement
