Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector seeks a Sr Staff Propulsion Engineer for Composite Case Manufacturing to lead case processing across multiple sites in Utah. The role guides process engineering, drives safety, quality, cost, and schedule commitments, and serves as the technical authority for Case Manufacturing.

Travel to Promontory, Magna, and Salt Lake City locations is required. The candidate will mentor engineers, collaborate with customers and program offices, and influence design reviews,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with 14+ years of experience or Master’s with 12+ or PhD with 10+ years
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
• Strong understanding of solid rocket motor case design, manufacturing, and test
• Demonstrated success leading high-performance, cross-functional technical teams
• Experience across multiple programs and sites

Responsibilities

• Establish safety-first culture and oversee Case Manufacturing Process Engineering
• Provide technical authority for Case Manufacturing Process Engineering organization
• Serve as technical POC to customers and translate needs into deliverables
• Lead and mentor cross-functional teams across sites
• Review planning changes, PFMEAs, CONOPS, MBOMs and other deliverables as Sr SME
• Participate in facility design reviews and CapEx/IRAD planning
• Drive process improvements and corrective actions across the Case Manufacturing Process team
• Be available to work on-site at various NG locations as needed
