Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Principal Propulsion Engineer – Level 3 in Promontory, UT. You will define the art of the possible for solid rocket motors, manage PM&P requirements, and drive aging and surveillance programs across cross-functional teams.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external USG customers, develop execution plans, and lead testing, reporting, and technical investigations to ensure compliance and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (STEM) with 5 years of professional experience or Master’s with 3 years or PhD with 1 year.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance.
• Experience in solid rocket motor design/manufacturing or parts, materials or processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with internal NG and external USG customers.
• Develop engineering execution plan to meet master schedules.
• Lead Material Scientists in test plan development and coordinate testing and reporting.
• Lead the Sentinel Aging and Surveillance program.
• Coordinate with Systems Engineering for requirement decomposition and traceability.
• Identify and mitigate risks and conduct deliverable reviews.
• Lead technical reporting efforts and presentations to customers.
