Job summary

Schochet seeks an experienced Senior Property Manager to oversee Plumley Village in Worcester, MA, a 430-unit family apartment community.

The role leads daily operations, supervises office and maintenance staff, and ensures resident satisfaction while managing rent, subsidies, and regulatory compliance for affordable housing programs.

Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills are essential; bilingual Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of multifamily property management experience.
• Experience managing a property with 250 or more residential units.
• Strong knowledge of the Section 8 housing program, LIHTC and affordable housing regulations.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a large property management team.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Daily Operations: Oversee all aspects of property operations to ensure an efficient, well-maintained, and professionally managed community.
• Staff Leadership: Supervise property management and maintenance staff, assist with recruiting and hiring, training and developing team members, provide ongoing performance feedback, and conduct annual reviews.
• Resident and Community Relations: Foster positive communication and professional relationships with current and prospective residents, vendors, staff, tenants, and the community.
• Rent and Subsidy Administration: Oversee rent calculations, rent collection, delinquency notices, and related legal actions; manage subsidy collections.
• Reporting: Prepare and submit required reports and documentation, including time sheets, building inspection reports, and vacancy reports.
• Compliance: Oversee recertifications, interims, move-ins, inventory records, and property and unit inspection reports.
