Senior Property Accountant

Remote

As a Senior Property Accountant, you will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of our managed properties. You'll ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, manage general ledger activities, and work closely with property managers and leadership to support strategic financial decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties
• Manage general ledger activity and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Perform reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheet accounts
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP, and company policies
• Collaborate with property management teams to provide financial insights and support
• Assist with annual budgeting and external audits
• Utilize Yardi software to manage accounting functions efficiently

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Must reside locally (within the Washington DC Metro)
• Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience in the property management industry
• Proficiency with Yardi property management software is required
