Invitation Homes, a fast-paced publicly traded REIT, seeks a Senior Accountant for the Property Accounting team to maintain the general ledger, partner with field and corporate teams, and deliver timely financial reports to shareholders.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to prioritize deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, and eager to learn multiple aspects of the single-family residential business while driving process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Excel proficiency and ability to handle high data volumes.
• Yardi experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Review work completed by property accountants for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure month-end close deadlines are met; maintain bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Work with Accounting Managers to optimize workload and cross-training.
• Review the Balance Sheet and Income Statement for accuracy.
• Prepare and analyze financial results and provide insights to business leaders.
• Mentor staff and promote professional development.
• Collaborate with HOA, Leasing, Operations, and other units to understand impact on financials.
• Interact with field teams and external partners for financial review and analysis.
• Assist with recurring and ad hoc analyses of financial results and benchmarks.
• Support external and internal audit requests (SOX, compliance, controls).
• Participate in training to deepen knowledge of single-family residential business.
