Invitation Homes is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Property Accounting team, ensuring general ledger integrity and timely financial reporting. You will work with multiple departments to understand business unit impacts on financial statements and mentor staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required.
• 3 – 5 years of accounting and financial statement preparation experience required; Property Accounting preferred.
• Solid understanding of GAAP with high accuracy and good time management.
• Intermediate Excel skills required.
• Experience handling high volumes of data.
• Yardi experience is a plus.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities to improve team efficiency.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to follow GAAP and read financial statements.
• Regular and consistent attendance; overtime may be required.
• Ability to set and meet deadlines.
• Maintain professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Review work from property accountants for accuracy per policies.
• Manage month-end close deadlines and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Collaborate with Accounting Managers on workload and cross-training.
• Review Balance Sheet and Income Statement for accuracy.
• Understand financial reports and impact of single-family rental business.
• Mentor and develop staff.
• Coordinate with HOA, Leasing, Operations, and other units.
• Interface with field teams and external partners for financial review.
• Prepare and review ad hoc analyses of financial results and trends.
• Assist with external/internal audit requests (SOX, Compliance, Internal Controls).
• Participate in training to increase knowledge of the single-family business.
