Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing residential real estate company to hire a Senior Property Accountant. The role centers on financial reporting for a portfolio of properties and full-cycle accounting, collaborating with operations, ownership groups, and leadership.

You will prepare monthly statements, close books, monitor cash, and assist with development accounting, tax calculations, and GAAP compliance while supporting a dynamic real estate portfolio with potential hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 3-5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in real estate or property management
• Strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting processes
• Self-starter with excellent attention to detail and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
• Perform month-end close activities, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Complete bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances
• Calculate investor distributions and maintain ownership reporting
• Record depreciation and amortization schedules
• Manage AP review and approval activities
• Support development accounting, draws, and project reporting
• Prepare sales & use tax calculations and filings
• Ensure GAAP compliance and accuracy

In this role, you'll be responsible for the financial reporting and accounting activities for a portfolio of residential properties while partnering closely with operations, ownership groups, and leadership. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
• Perform month-end close activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Complete bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances
• Calculate investor distributions and maintain reporting packages for ownership groups
• Record depreciation and amortization schedules
• Manage AP review and approval activities
• Support development accounting, draws, and project reporting
• Prepare sales & use tax calculations and filings
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• 3-5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate, property management, or a related industry
• Strong understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting processes
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities
• Experience with property management or accounting software such as RealPage, OneSite, or Sage is a plus
• Self-starter with excellent attention to detail and communication skills
