Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services seeks a Project Traffic / Transportation Engineer to join its collaborative team in Charlotte, NC. This role focuses on traffic/parking studies, planning studies, and roadway design, with opportunities to manage multiple challenging projects.

You will work on traffic analysis, field data collection, report drafting, and coordination across disciplines. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in traffic engineering, an EIT, and readiness for PE licensure, with

Qualifications

• 7+ years of traffic engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT licensure and ability to obtain PE license in the future.
• Experience with HCS, SYNCHRO, and the MUTCD.
• AutoCAD and MicroStation knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects.
• Excellent analytical and judgment capabilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform planning and permitting of traffic/transportation engineering.
• Conduct traffic analysis for traffic impact studies.
• Oversee collecting traffic volume, road, and regulatory data.
• Perform preliminary traffic reviews at the project concept stage.
• Contribute to drafting reports including traffic impact and parking studies.
• Knowledge of engineering design software to prepare documents.
• Coordinate field services and other project tasks as needed.
• Assist with preparing and modifying engineering documents.
