Job summary

HNTB is seeking a Traffic Engineer to lead traffic analyses, forecasts, and modeling for projects across the Carolinas. The role includes overseeing team deliverables, coordinating with clients and partners, and mentoring staff.

Required qualifications include a engineering degree with several years of experience and PE certification preferred. Locations include Charlotte, NC and Columbia, SC with full-time on-site engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 6 years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 5 years of relevant experience, or PhD with 4 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in traffic engineering and ability to lead analyses, forecasts, and modeling tasks.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan and distribute discipline-specific work, ensuring schedule and budget adherence.
• Assist in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
• Develop scope of work and level of effort for projects within the discipline.
• Oversee completeness and accuracy of the project team’s work and mentor staff.
• Coordinate technical aspects with client counterparts and teaming partners.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
