Job summary

DRMP in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineering Project Manager, PE to lead and grow our transportation practice, overseeing complex traffic studies, traffic impact analyses, and modeling projects from inception through completion.

The role blends technical leadership with project management, quality control, business development, and team mentoring for public- and private-sector clients in the Carolinas and Virginia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
• 7–10+ years of experience with public and private sector projects.
• Professional Engineer licensure in the state where work is performed.
• Strong knowledge of traffic software (Synchro, SIDRA).
• Existing contacts with private sector development clients.

Responsibilities

• Oversee traffic studies, TAIs, and modeling through the project life cycle including QA.
• Drive business development and strengthen the DRMP brand across states.
• Manage multiple studies and provide technical QA on projects.
• Support marketing with project pursuits, presentations, and interviews.
• Track costs, schedules, and performance metrics; mentor staff.
• Prepare project fee proposals.
