Job summary

Hitachi Rail in New York City seeks a Senior Project Scheduler/Planner to develop, maintain and manage complex schedules for infrastructure and transit projects. You will lead schedule integrity using Primavera P6 and MS Project, coordinate with local teams and contractors, and support bid and project execution.

The role requires 7+ years in scheduling on technology projects, expert CPM knowledge, and strong reporting (EAC, KPIs).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field.
7+ years of scheduling experience in complex technology projects, with 3+ years on New York projects.
Expert in Primavera P6 and MS Project; knowledge of schedule integration and cost/resource loading.
Advanced/Expert skills in Microsoft Excel.
Strong CPM, project controls, and construction sequencing knowledge.

Responsibilities

Create, update, and monitor project schedules in P6 per client standards.
Coordinate with local teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliant execution and reporting.
Produce reports and metrics (CPM, EAC, labor forecasts).
Conduct scheduling risk analysis and implement mitigation to minimize delays.
Support bids with full schedules, narrative, and LOE estimates for planning functions.
Monitor progress vs Baseline using EVM and related metrics.
Provide clear, actionable schedule commentary for management and customers.
Create and document basis of claims and variations during project execution.
