Job summary

Ian Martin Group seeks a skilled Planner / Scheduler to develop and optimize detailed project schedules across planning, procurement, engineering, and construction activities. You will work closely with project managers, teams, and stakeholders to reflect scope, resources, milestones, and performance objectives.

The role emphasizes managing complex scheduling tasks, providing analysis, and delivering accurate reporting throughout project lifecycles, with a hybrid work model and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or university degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in project scheduling or project controls.
• Experience with large-scale industrial, energy, infrastructure, or oil and gas construction projects preferred.
• Strong CPM, schedule analysis, forecasting, and performance measurement skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules for planning, procurement, engineering, construction, and maintenance activities.
• Apply enterprise scheduling standards, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and ensure schedule consistency.
• Revise schedules using performance data, earned value metrics, field reporting, and progress updates.
• Analyze schedule performance; identify variances, risks, constraints, and impacts to milestones.
• Communicate schedule issues, delays, and recovery options to Project Managers and stakeholders.
• Ensure resource requirements are incorporated into schedules and refined throughout the lifecycle.
• Develop, monitor, and report schedule performance indicators and project metrics.
• Perform critical path analysis and develop scenario-based what-if schedules.
• Provide technical guidance on scheduling, forecasting, and schedule optimization.
