Job summary

MMR Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Payroll & Timekeeping Lead to oversee field timekeeping and payroll on a large-scale construction project in Cameron, LA.

This role acts as the project-level SME for timekeeping and payroll accuracy and will ensure time is captured, reviewed, coded, corrected, and submitted accurately for each payroll cycle. This position requires leadership, quality control, and process improvement for the project’s timekeeping team, not a typical data-entry

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll/timekeeping experience.
• Demonstrated experience supporting a large craft workforce.
• Experience leading, supervising, auditing, or training timekeepers.
• Strong understanding of construction labor reporting, job costing, cost codes, overtime, and payroll corrections.
• Experience with electronic timekeeping and payroll systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of project timekeeping and payroll activities.
• Review and audit daily/weekly employee time for accuracy.
• Verify hours, shifts, overtime, classifications, cost codes, and payroll data.
• Identify missing/duplicate/incorrect time entries before payroll processing.
• Reconcile timekeeping records with rosters, transfers, and terminations.
• Coordinate payroll corrections prior to payroll close and track resolutions.
• Provide training and day-to-day guidance to timekeepers.
• Perform quality-control audits of timekeeper work.
• Identify recurring errors and implement corrective measures.
• Coordinate with Project Management, HR, and Corporate Payroll.
• Maintain documentation supporting payroll adjustments.
