Job summary

Thayer Power & Communication Line Construction Co., LLC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and manage projects from planning through completion. You will ensure all phases—design, procurement, installation, and commissioning—are executed on time, within budget, and with the highest safety and quality standards.

The role requires strong organization, independent work habits, and careful financial management, with responsibility for bids, cash flow, WIP, and reporting to leadership.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of project management experience in utility infrastructure.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of PM principles, procedures and best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven leadership, motivation, vision and direction.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Proven success in developing and maintaining customer relationships.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel to project sites; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop relationships with new customers.
• Cultivate relationships with existing customers.
• Promote Thayer's culture, values and beliefs.
• Contribute to bidding strategy and pricing.
• Prepare take-offs, solicit pricing, and bid responses to RFPs.
• Create project initiation plans including schedules, cash flow, material needs, and safety plans.
• Maintain communication with sites and customers on issues like scope changes and schedule conflicts.
• Manage project costs and risks to stay on budget.
• Develop cash flows, manage billing and change orders.
• Oversee subcontractors and vendors for timely delivery.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to leadership.
• Facilitate project close-out, including punch lists and inspections.
