Job summary

Taylor Transportation Search Group seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead planning, execution and delivery of complex systems projects for transit authorities and public sector clients. Remote role with Eastern or Central time zones; travel 20%+ across North America and Europe.

You will drive cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and maintain strong customer relationships. The role requires 10+ years in technical project delivery, formal PM methodologies, and a PMP/PRINCE2-style certification.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in systems project management or complex technical delivery.
• Experience managing projects for transit authorities, public transportation organizations, or government agencies.
• Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, contracts, and deliverables.
• Strong financial management, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, build customer relationships, and communicate effectively with senior executives and public-sector stakeholders.
• Experience applying formal project management methodologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent education and experience considered.
• Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct all phases of project planning, execution, and delivery, managing scope, schedules, resources, milestones, and contractual obligations.
• Develop and manage project budgets, forecast costs, monitor financial performance, and implement corrective actions to protect project profitability.
• Serve as a key point of contact for customers, government agencies, internal leadership, and project stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective issue resolution.
• Lead technical, operational, and commercial teams to achieve project objectives, often without direct reporting authority.
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, manage change orders, resolve escalations, and maintain project documentation and reporting.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and results-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities and competing demands.
