Job summary

Leopardo is seeking a Project Manager II to oversee mid-sized tenant interiors construction projects in downtown Chicago and surrounding areas. You will manage budgeting, scheduling, and communications, and coordinate with architects, engineers and subcontractors to meet project goals.

The role requires a solid track record in project management for interior construction, strong cost control, and ability to lead teams from preconstruction through closeout.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering or architecture related fields or equivalent training and related experience.
• 5+ years experience as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager with estimating experience.
• Experience with tenant interiors construction in Chicago.
• Understanding of construction process phases and market knowledge.
• Proficiency with project management and accounting software; ACC Build is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction efforts on negotiated projects; prepare budgets and estimates, solicit bids, review bids, and draft scopes of work.
• Prepare detailed general conditions budgets and assist with budgeting.
• Coordinate permit applications and submittals for review.
• Negotiate and draft subcontracts ensuring proper insurance and alignment with master agreements.
• Develop and monitor master schedules with critical path analysis.
• Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and coordinate with Leopardo’s self-perform groups.
• Manage shop drawings, RFIs, change orders and logkeeping.
• Lead and participate in project meetings and closeout activities.
• Foster client and A/E relationships and support recruitment and mentoring.
