The Senior Technical Project Manager leads complex, cross-functional technology projects that support clinical, operational, and administrative initiatives across the healthcare system. Reporting to the Director of the IT PMO or a department leader, the Senior Technical Project Manager collaborates closely with IT architects, clinical informatics, application analysts, cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality project delivery. This role manages the full project lifecycle-from initiation through implementation-while aligning with enterprise goals, regulatory requirements, and patient care priorities.
Leads Full Technical Project Lifecycle Management
- Defines project scope, goals, deliverables, and success metrics.
- Develops detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
- Manages technical project execution, ensuring milestones are met.
- Tracks and reports on project progress, risks, and issues.
- Facilitates project close-out and post-implementation reviews.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
- Works closely with clinical, operational, and IT leaders to gather requirements.
- Facilitates stakeholder meetings and status updates.
- Aligns project goals with organizational strategy and compliance standards.
- Manages expectations and ensures stakeholder engagement.
- Resolves conflicts and escalates issues as needed.
Manages Technical Implementation Activities
- Coordinates with technical teams on system design and integration.
- Oversees vendor deliverables and third-party implementations.
- Ensures adherence to cybersecurity, interoperability, and data governance standards.
- Supports testing, validation, and go-live activities.
- Troubleshoots technical issues during deployment.
Oversees Budget and Resource Management
- Develops and manages project budgets and forecasts.
- Tracks expenditures and ensures cost control.
- Allocates internal and external resources effectively.
- Identifies resource gaps and proposes mitigation strategies.
- Prepares financial reports for leadership.
Ensures Regulatory and Quality Compliance
- Ensures projects meet regulatory standards.
- Coordinates with compliance and legal teams as needed.
- Documents project decisions and audit trails.
- Supports internal and external audits.
- Integrates quality improvement principles into project design.
Mentors and Supports Technical Project Team Members
- Provides guidance to junior project managers and analysts.

- Supports process improvement initiatives.
