Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives from initiation through delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role partners closely with business leaders, technology teams, and external vendors to deliver outcomes aligned with strategic objectives. The Senior Project Manager applies advanced project management practices, manages risk and dependencies, and provides clear, executive‑level communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead medium-large‑scale, high‑visibility projects involving multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
- Define project scope, objectives, success criteria, and deliverables in collaboration with business and technology partners.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts.
- Ensure adherence to organizational project management standards, governance, and controls.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Facilitate executive steering committees, status reviews, and decision forums as needed.
- Provide concise, transparent reporting on project progress, risks, issues, and financials.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and proactively address concerns or changes.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues; elevate when appropriate.
- Manage cross‑project dependencies and coordinate with other project and program teams.
- Drive resolution of roadblocks through collaboration and effective decision‑making.
- Manage scope changes through formal change control processes.
- Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and business requirements.
- Support organizational change management activities to drive adoption and value realization.
- Contribute to improvements in delivery processes, tools, and templates.
- Support portfolio and program‑level initiatives as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of progressive project management experience, including leading complex, cross‑functional initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience managing enterprise technology, business transformation, or regulatory projects.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid).
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI‑ACP, or similar certification.
- Experience in financial services, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Experience with enterprise tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent.
