Job Description

Evergreen Innovation Group, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager, Renewables, with a strong background in solar, renewable energy, battery storage, and electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on electrical constructability.

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in electrical construction, guiding projects from pre-construction through completion with a hands-on approach to project design, constructability reviews, and installation. This role is crucial in ensuring that projects meet high standards of functionality, safety, and efficiency, aligning with client goals and industry requirements. Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Direct management of project management team and oversight of projects nationwide.

  • Train and mentor younger project managers on the means and methods of electrical construction, particularly in the context of renewables and energy storage. Share practical insights and best practices in constructability, safety, and project efficiency to develop their expertise and confidence in managing renewable energy projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject-matter expert on electrical constructability, focusing on optimizing the design and construction phases to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and long-term reliability. Conduct constructability reviews to identify issues early and recommend practical solutions.

  • Develop detailed project schedules, timelines, and work breakdown structures with an emphasis on electrical construction activities. Work closely with design and field teams to ensure feasible, constructible solutions are integrated from the project outset.

  • Lead project budgeting efforts, specifically around the electrical installation scope. Review costs, forecast expenditures, and manage budget controls to ensure project profitability. Approve invoices, change orders, and financial documentation to maintain project financial health.

  • Oversee and enforce quality control standards on all electrical work. Conduct site reviews and inspections to confirm adherence to design specifications, codes (NEC, NFPA), and company standards, ensuring robust and compliant installations.

  • Identify and assess constructability risks and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure all work complies with OSHA, company safety policies, and local regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and maintain a safe working environment on all sites.

  • Act as the primary liaison with clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and constructability adjustments. Address any concerns and maintain transparent communication to meet client expectations.

  • Provide leadership to the project team with a focus on technical guidance for the electrical scope. Mentor junior staff in electrical constructability, best practices, and problem-solving. Support continuous improvement in project delivery and team capabilities.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, renewable energy technologies, constructability principles, and NEC, NFPA, and OSHA regulations.

  • Proven track record of addressing electrical constructability challenges and implementing effective solutions.

  • Strong technical and constructability analysis skills.

  • Proficient in project management and design software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, AutoCAD).

  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in project management for the electrical contracting industry, specifically focused on solar, energy storage, EV charging, or renewable energy projects. Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with significant electrical constructability challenges.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.

  • PMP or CAPM certification preferred. OSHA 30-hour certification is an advantage

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel as needed for on-site project management, client meetings, and field constructability reviews.

Anticipated starting pay range:

$120,000.00- $170,000.00
