Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or related field.
• 8–10 years of project management experience in renewable energy.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale energy projects (solar, wind, storage).
• PM methodologies (PMI, Prince2) and software proficiency.
• Strong knowledge of South Africa grid connection requirements and regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure with effective stakeholder engagement.
• Financial modeling and contract management experience.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Welkom, Free State with travel availability.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client, a prominent developer and operator within the renewable Energy sector, is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Project Manager to oversee critical infrastructure projects. This role, based in Welkom, Free State , involves the end-to-end management of large-scale renewable energy developments, including solar farms, wind installations, and battery storage systems. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a strategic position requiring a proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, navigate regulatory landscapes, and drive project success in a fast-paced environment. • Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Prince2) and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, grid connection requirements, and regulatory frameworks in South Africa.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
• Experience with financial modeling and contract management.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Welkom, Free State .
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
