Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead large-scale renewable energy infrastructure projects. Based in Paarl with a hybrid work model, you will oversee planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and high quality.

You will manage cross-functional teams, engage diverse stakeholders, and drive health, safety and environmental standards across all project phases.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• PMP or Prince2 certification is advantageous.
• 7+ years in project management within renewables.
• Experience delivering complex infrastructure projects from initiation to closure.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsabilidades

About the Role

Our client, a leading firm in the sustainable Energy sector, is seeking a highly competent Project Manager to oversee the development and execution of significant renewable energy infrastructure projects. This role is based in Paarl, Western Cape, and offers a hybrid work model, blending the benefits of in-office collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. You will be responsible for managing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a pivotal role for an experienced professional looking to make a tangible impact on the growth of renewable Energy in South Africa. You will lead diverse teams and engage with a wide range of stakeholders, driving forward our client's commitment to a cleaner energy future.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of renewable energy projects, including planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive management of potential issues.
• Lead and motivate project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring clear communication among all members.
• Oversee procurement processes, including tendering, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
• Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout all project phases.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors.
• Monitor project progress, report on key performance indicators, and manage project changes effectively.
• Conduct post-project reviews and implement lessons learned for future projects.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Civil), Construction Management, or a related field.
• A PMP or Prince2 certification is highly advantageous.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with a significant portion focused on the renewable Energy sector (solar, wind, hydro, or storage).
• Demonstrated success in managing complex infrastructure projects from initiation to closure.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Ability to manage budgets and control project costs effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid capacity based in Paarl, Western Cape, involving both office-based and remote work.
