Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager who will serve as a key operational leader within the organization.

While the position carries the Senior Project Manager title, the scope extends well beyond traditional project management. This individual will help oversee the day-to-day construction operations of the company, providing leadership and guidance to approximately 17 office and field leaders.

The successful candidate will be a proven commercial construction leader who understands how to manage projects, develop people, solve problems, establish accountability, and drive results.

This is a hands-on leadership position. The right person will be comfortable getting into the details when necessary, working alongside project managers and superintendents, visiting jobsites, addressing issues in real time, and helping teams execute at a higher level.

Operations Leadership
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and accountability across construction operations
  • Oversee and support approximately 17 office and field leaders, including project managers, superintendents, and other key personnel
  • Establish clear expectations for project execution, communication, accountability, and performance
  • Identify operational challenges and work directly with teams to develop practical solutions
  • Ensure projects are being executed safely, efficiently, and profitably
  • Serve as a key escalation point for complex project and field issues
  • Work closely with company leadership to improve operational performance and overall business results
Project Management
  • Provide senior-level oversight of active commercial construction projects
  • Review project schedules, budgets, costs, change orders, contracts, and overall project performance
  • Ensure project managers have the resources, information, and support needed to successfully execute their work
  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify schedule, cost, staffing, and execution risks
  • Participate in key client meetings and help maintain strong customer relationships
  • Assist with project turnover from estimating/preconstruction through completion and closeout
  • Step into projects when necessary to resolve issues or provide additional leadership
Field Operations
  • Work closely with superintendents and field leadership to ensure projects are progressing according to schedule and quality expectations
  • Visit jobsites and maintain visibility into field operations
  • Help establish consistent standards for safety, quality, productivity, scheduling, and communication
  • Partner with field leaders to resolve manpower, scheduling, coordination, and execution challenges
  • Ensure office and field teams remain aligned throughout the project lifecycle
Leadership & Team Development
  • Coach, mentor, and develop project managers, superintendents, and other operational leaders
  • Identify strengths and development opportunities across the team
  • Establish accountability while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented culture
  • Help develop processes and best practices that improve consistency and performance
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and development of key operational personnel

If you're a senior commercial construction leader who wants a bigger operational impact while remaining close to the work, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

A bit about us:

Our client is a well-established, privately owned specialty contractor with more than two decades of experience delivering high-quality commercial and architectural construction projects throughout Texas and surrounding markets.

The company has built its reputation on craftsmanship, attention to detail, dependable project execution, and strong relationships with its customers and partners. Its full-service approach brings estimating, project management, field supervision, and client coordination together to deliver projects safely, on time, and on budget.

This is an established organization with an entrepreneurial culture where experienced construction leaders are trusted to make decisions, solve problems, develop people, and have a meaningful impact on the business.

Why join us?

A True Leadership Opportunity

This is more than a traditional Senior Project Manager position. You will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the company, providing leadership, direction, accountability, and support to approximately 17 office and field leaders, including project management, estimating, superintendent, and other operational personnel.

Hands-On, Not Hands-Off

This company is looking for a leader who is willing to roll up their sleeves and get involved. You won't be sitting behind a desk simply reviewing reports.

You'll work directly with project teams, superintendents, customers, and leadership to identify problems, make decisions, improve execution, and keep projects moving.

Direct Access to Ownership

You will work closely with company leadership and have a significant voice in how the business operates. This is an opportunity to join an established company while still having the autonomy and influence typically associated with a smaller, entrepreneurial organization.

Lead and Develop People

You will have direct influence over a team of approximately 17 office and field leaders. The company is looking for someone who can develop people, establish accountability, raise performance standards, and help build the next generation of construction leaders.

Masonry Experience Is NOT Required

While our client is a specialized masonry contractor, masonry experience is not required for this position.

The company understands that strong construction leadership fundamentals transfer across trades and is willing to teach the right leader the masonry side of the business.

Candidates from commercial general contracting or other specialty subcontracting environments are encouraged to apply.
