Job summary

Scott Humphrey Corporation in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team. This role focuses on high-quality commercial projects across Central Texas, from early concept through delivery, with a hands-on, builders-first culture.

You will lead budgets, schedules, and client relations on projects ranging from $2M to $10M, collaborate with owners and architects, and guide subs and field teams toward profitable, on-time completion.

Qualifications

  • 7–12+ years of commercial construction experience.
  • Experience as a Project Manager on $2M–$10M projects.
  • Strong background in interiors and/or ground-up commercial projects.
  • Experience with negotiated work and client-facing responsibilities.
  • Procore experience preferred.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a genuine passion for construction and take pride in building.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring successful execution across all phases
  • Lead budgeting, estimating support, and cost control throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with field teams
  • Work closely with ownership and clients during early project phases (many projects are negotiated)
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, buyout, and contract management
  • Collaborate closely with Superintendents to ensure alignment between field and office operations
  • Track project financials, manage change orders, and maintain overall project profitability
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and key stakeholders

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing Austin-based team. This is an urgent, high-impact hire for someone who wants to be part of a tight-knit group of passionate builders working on high-quality commercial projects across Central Texas.

This is not a “sit behind a desk and just push paperwork” type of role—this team is looking for someone who genuinely loves building and wants to be involved from early concept through project delivery, surrounded by others who feel the same way.

This is a great opportunity for an experience Project Manager who is looking to grow into a Project Executive or other Director-level role in the next 5 years.

Project Types:

  • Class A Office Interiors (including high-end law firms)
  • Adaptive Reuse / Historic Conversions
  • High-End Retail/Restaurant
  • Specialty / High-End Concepts (e.g., boutique hospitality, wellness spaces)
  • Typical project sizes range from $2M – $10M

Key Responsibilities:
