Job summary

City of New York’s HPD seeks a Senior Project Manager for the Multifamily Cooperative Preservation Team within the Division of Preservation Finance. You will lead complex capitally funded projects, oversee underwriting, and support program administration and policy implementation in collaboration with Deputy Directors and the Director.

You will mentor staff, develop resources, and coordinate with interagency partners to advance preservation goals for multifamily affordable housing in NYC.

Qualifications

• Preferred skills include interest in community development, knowledge of NYC affordable housing and private lending programs, experience working with small building owners or low-capacity borrowers, at least 1 year of underwriting experience, advanced MS Office skills (especially Excel), ability to multitask and set priorities, strong interpersonal and writing skills, and 2–3 years in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Managing intake, assessment, and underwriting of complex capitally funded projects including resolving complex workouts and challenges.
• Ensuring timely completion of transactions
• Preparing statistical and tracking reports
• Mentoring other project managers and Division staff
• Developing Division resource materials and process improvements, and implementing new policies
• Interagency coordination to facilitate program goals and policies
• Working on other special projects as needed
