Job summary

NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development is seeking a Director to lead the HUD Multifamily and Year 15 portfolio with a focus on preserving affordable housing across NYC. You will work with the Executive Director to guide a team of Deputy Directors, Senior Project Managers and Project Managers, ensuring timely closings, budget discipline and program improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree and four years of real estate development/acquisition experience with executive/managerial responsibility.
• Experience in development, design, financing or renewal of housing projects or similar.
• Strong financial analysis, modeling and reporting skills.
• Policy, program management and cross‑agency collaboration experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead Deputy Directors and Project Managers on HUD Multifamily and Year 15 transactions.
• Track budget, closings, conversions and performance against housing goals.
• Develop budgets, pro formas and affordability analyses for preservation programs.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance program development.
• Prepare reports, comply with requirements and mentor staff.
• Hire, train and provide feedback to team; manage performance.
