Job summary

Shawmut Design and Construction seeks a Senior Project Manager for Mission Critical data center programs. You will lead large-scale projects from preconstruction through closeout, owning safety, quality, schedule, and cost while ensuring client satisfaction.

Travel nationwide is required, with a national footprint across projects. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in construction or management and 5+ years in hyperscale data centers, delivering projects from $25M to $100M.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in construction or management.
• At least 5+ years managing hyperscale and/or colocation data center projects.
• Proven track record delivering complex projects between $25M and $100M.
• Strong leadership and communication skills for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of responsibility and accountability for assigned projects, representing Shawmut to clients, partners, and stakeholders.
• Lead all project management functions from preconstruction through closeout, providing direct oversight and mentorship.
• Manage all contractual aspects of projects, including procurement strategy, contract negotiation and execution, change management, and risk mitigation.
• Develop project forecasts, prepare budget projections, and ensure cost control within approved financial parameters.
• Prepare, review, and approve project and business documentation including contracts, proposals, and change orders.
• Oversee project billing and cash flow while maintaining understanding of job costs and financial performance.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cost-of-work definitions, GMP controls, and change management processes.
• Lead client meetings and guide contract development through GMP execution, building relationships with clients and vendors.
• Provide leadership across Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Construction, and Service for timely project execution.
• Consult with senior leadership to align project strategy with company objectives.
• Participate in project management meetings and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate staffing resources across departments and supervise all assigned personnel.
